Inerzia o statica?

Ecco le due defizioni:

Per inerzia si intende la proprietà della materia che ne determina la resistenza ad opporsi a variazioni dello stato di moto.

Per statica le condizioni necessarie affinché un corpo, inizialmente in quiete, resti in quiete anche dopo l’intervento di azioni esterne dette forze.

E se ipoteticamente si rientra in entrambe!?
